Welcome to Vicki's class

Welcome to our classroom home!

Our classroom

So often parents do not get to pop into the class as often as they would like.

I use this website as a way to share what we are exploring in class. I will share the themes that we are working on as well as pictures of materials and activities we are using in class. I use play as the predominant way to facilitate learning, build understanding and show competence in class in concert with paper work. This website will allow you to see what we are doing as a class as a whole.

Often with a new post, I will include a section for you titled "Things you can do". This will include suggestions of things to do at home to extend the learning that is happening in the class, as well as suggestions of specific questions you can ask that may get a more detailed answers than the question  "What did you do today?" These suggestions are ways for your child to share with you what they can do. You can see for yourself how your child is learning and growing their brain!

Resources for you on this website.

Tabs along the top of this webpage:

These pages include many resources that I have chosen and curated that I feel are appropriate for the grade and stage of my class. Feel free to explore and use these pages as best fits you and your family.

Here is a quick synopsis of the pages, if you would like, but you really don't have to read any further, you can just dive in.

Everyday Things

This page of the website has suggestions of how you can incorporate "school learning" into things you are doing with and around your child all the time.

Read at Home

If your child needs support with reading or writing these tools will help.

On this page there are links to the Boulkili reading app, word lists and Kalulu letter sound practice. With the word list you can have your child make up cards with the words and play Go Fish, use them to make a hopscotch outside or write a silly story.

You can read the Kalulu pages online as well if you choose. Boukili has books that your child can read and then listen to the book to hear how accurate they were reading.

Learning Activities

This is a general page that has many websites with ideas for being outside, reading, math and games for Oral French practice.
